Zhensen Energy connects 20MW ground distributed PV project to grid.

Shanxi, as an important energy and raw material base in China, holds a pivotal strategic position in its coal aluminum industry. Its coal reserves rank third in the country, and its bauxite reserves account for over 40% of the country's total. Recently, the 20 MW ground distributed photovoltaic energy project jointly built by Zhensen Energy and Shanxi Senze Group was officially connected to the grid for power generation in Liulin County, Shanxi Province.


As the first photovoltaic project built on a red mud dam in China, its innovation and environmental value have attracted much attention, setting a new benchmark for the "photovoltaic+land reuse" model in the coal aluminum industry.

This project is a key project of the "Thousand Projects, Hundred Billion" initiative in the city and county. Its implementation not only serves as a benchmark demonstration for industrial transformation and upgrading, but also as an engine for long-term high-quality development. The project is the first photovoltaic project on a red mud dam in the industry, and the design difficulty is relatively high

Faced with the complex geology of the backfill area, considering the uneven settlement of the site backfill and the poor stability of the slope in the backfill area, and at the same time, during the construction process, the waterproof and anti-seepage functions of the red mud dam yard cannot be destroyed, and the smooth implementation of the project needs to be fully guaranteed.


In terms of design, Zhensen Electric Power Design Institute innovatively adopts three-dimensional geological modeling technology to conduct refined geological analysis of the backfill area, accurately predict settlement trends, and design geological adaptability for settlement risks, overcoming the core technical problems of photovoltaic construction under complex geological conditions.


On the premise of ensuring the integrity of the anti-seepage system of the red mud dam, the stability of the collapsible loess geological slope is reinforced by setting up interception and drainage ditches and planting grass for ecological restoration, preventing soil erosion, improving soil structure, and significantly enhancing slope stability.


In terms of drainage and anti-seepage, by designing a completely new drainage system and building zoning drainage functions, it not only meets the drainage needs of the photovoltaic field area, but also ensures the anti-seepage function of the red mud dam.


Technological innovation not only ensures the smooth implementation of the project, but also fills the technological gap in the field of red mud dam photovoltaic applications in the industry, providing a replicable technical template for similar projects in the future.
